About the University
Université des Mascareignes
Université des Mascareignes (UdM) was set up in 2012 and is the youngest public University in Mauritius, under the aegis of the Ministry of Tertiary Education, Science and Research.
It provides undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Sustainable Development and Engineering, in Business and Management and in Information and Communication Technology. Research degrees are also offered at the Doctoral School.
Our Campuses
Three Fully Operational Campuses
The University currently has three fully operational campuses at Roches Brunes, Rose Hill, at Beau Plan, Pamplemousses and Bel-Air.
International Collaboration
Our Major Partner
A partnership agreement was signed on February 12, 2013 in Limoges on the creation of a francophone university « l’Université des Mascareignes » (UdM) in Mauritius between the President of the Université de Limoges and the Ministry of Tertiary Education, Science, Research and Technology of the Republic of Mauritius.
Since then, the Université de Limoges and the Université des Mascareignes have had close institutional, pedagogical and scientific collaborations. The bulk of the degrees awarded at the Université des Mascareignes are dual degrees with the Université de Limoges.
The Université de Limoges welcomes every year students from the Université des Mascareignes, either as part of their internships or studies funded by UdM / French Embassy scholarships, or the European Erasmus funds.
Lecturers from the University of Limoges regularly deliver certain programmes at the Université des Mascareignes, mainly in Master's programmes or as co-supervisors for theses. Many research projects are conducted between researchers from these two universities, whether as part of Hubert Curien programs, or funded by the MRC, HEC, etc.
